Teen Woodturning & Scroll Saw Art (Soto Tuesday Mornings)
Explore the artistic side of woodworking in this hands-on class combining two time-honored techniques: woodturning and scroll saw art. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this course will guide you through the fundamentals of shaping wood on the lathe and crafting detailed designs with the scroll saw.
Students will learn how to safely operate woodworking equipment, select appropriate wood types, and apply techniques to create both functional and decorative pieces. Projects may include turned bowls, pens, ornaments, layered scrollwork, fretwork, and more.
Emphasis is placed on creativity, craftsmanship, and proper technique. By the end of the class, participants will take home several completed projects and gain the skills to continue exploring woodworking independently.
