Learn how to create a beautiful and vibrant pastel painting in a positive and encouraging environment. This workshop will cover an introduction to pastels (common papers and soft pastel brands used), short lecture on contemporary pastel artists and their work as well as a step by step demonstration and paint-a-long landscape scene project which will be completed in class. We will cover basic design elements and how to apply them in your painting.

Learn the skill of hand-eye coordination for drawing the human figure. This class will teach you how to “get it down on paper” through the use of exercises which make viewing the figure and the relationship of all of the parts make sense. You will learn the basic fundamentals of gesture, contour and line related to seeing the figure. Through practice you will gain an understanding of the basic skeleton and muscles which make up the foundation of the human form.
