This is your chance to create a magical creature using found objects, mosaic tiles, jewelry bits, chains, natural stone, gems … basically – anything goes! These creatures can be hung on a wall or stand on a table. If preferred, a student can bring in other metal objects such as mailboxes to work on. Prior experience with mosaics is not required.

This mosaic workshop is designed to acquaint participants with the skills and materials needed for working on a metal substrate. Design patterns will be explored and the adhesives which work best on metal surfaces will be provided. Examples and suggestions for surface embellishment, use of mixed media, and building up of surfaces for a layered effect will be encouraged. The first evening is centered around design, planning and preparation as well as demonstrations for use of the tools and materials available to students in the mosaic classroom. The next day will be dedicated to working with students individually on their projects and a sharing session will occur at the end of the day.

All supplies are provided.

Please bring a lunch.
