Designed for both absolute beginners and intermediate painters, this class will equip painters with the basics of handling watercolor and composing paintings. You will paint on watercolor paper using traditional materials. The transparency and fluidity of watercolor is very seductive because of its immediacy. However, because the paints move so freely they can be difficult to learn to control. This class is designed to help you learn about the materials and how to design your paintings. We will also help you begin to understand your preferred subject matter and style. The class sessions typically include a short demonstration or slides of master water media paintings and discussions of the range of choices available in aquarelles (watercolor). Students will paint in class using their own sketches, designs, or photos or the instructor will provide additional subject matter. Feedback will be personalized to the goals of each student.
