Explore the ins and outs of contemporary bookmaking by making your own archival bound journals, sketchbooks, and albums. This class will introduce artists to bookmaking techniques while gaining in-depth knowledge of paper and its properties. Using high-quality materials and a step-by-step process, students will learn the basics of applying adhesives, preparing for size, and manipulating various other materials so they may integrate this practice into their own artistic process. Attendees will work in both hard and soft binding styles and explore four basic book forms: Pamphlet, Accordion, Stab Binding, and Coptic Binding. No experience necessary, curiosity encouraged!

*THIS CLASS IS HELD OFFSITE AT THE ARTIST'S STUDIO*
