Learn the basics of making fine felt, one of the oldest textiles known to man! Students will make samples in classes 1 and 2 and then work on a final project of their choice in classes 3 and 4.  Please note, supplies for the final project are not included in the basic course supply fee. Students will have to purchase supplies for the final project.  Felting does require that students stand and roll for an hour or more. Students should wear old clothes and comfortable shoes and be ready to explore this fun and expressive medium!

Skills acquired in this course include:

  • Learn the basics of making fine felt

  • Gain knowledge of how to work with different types of wool fibers

  • Understand the concepts of working with a resist and sculptural felting
