Explore how artists make personal statements with color. Mixing color in oils is very different from mixing colors in watercolor. In this class, we will introduce color theory and investigate the impact different color combinations make with water-based media. This class is recommended for painters with some experience painting in watercolor and/or acrylics.
Paper and some other materials will be provided. Bring your own paints, pallet, brushes and other tools.
If you do not have these supplies, please wait to get them until after the first class as we will review the supply list the first night. In that case, what you need will be provided for the first class-meeting.
Skills acquired in this class include:
- Using color to create interest, establish mood, support content and enhance meaning in your own art.
- Analyze master works to learn how color choices can affect your resulting work.
- Understanding of how color choices can influence your work.
