Watercolor Pencil, Color Pencil, and Gouache is an art course that explores the possibilities of traditional techniques on paper. The course teaches students an indirect three-layered painting method using Watercolor Pencil, Color Pencil, and Gouache. The class exercises include observational painting, photo reference assignments, and master copies. The course also covers Victorian-style watercolor painting fused with contemporary mixed media practices. Students will learn about color theory and color schemes, with a focus on the elements of art and principles of design. The course emphasizes the context of artwork, symbolic content, and technical skills.
