WORKSHOPS: FIBER ARTS

Discover one of the oldest methods of dyes and create beautiful works of art in this full day workshop. Using traditional shibori methods with synthetic indigo, students will create unique designs onto pillow cases, wall hangings, bags, scarves and much more to take home and enjoy. All skill levels are welcome and all materials are provided; but students are welcome to bring any t-shirts or natural fiber materials (cotton/rayon/silk/linen) to try out as well.

Wear clothes that you won’t mind getting stained.

Please bring a lunch.

Learn to nuno felt with materials that are the absolute easiest to felt with and make a sophisticated collar to wear or give as a gift. Immerse yourself in beautiful color and texture! Note: Wet felting does require that students stand and roll for about an hour. Supplies students need to bring: two old flat (non-ruffled) light colored towels and some sharp scissors that will cut fabric. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes that can get a little wet. Instructor will bring hand-dyed silk fabric, fine merino wool rovings, hand-dyed silk embellishments and all the felting tools needed.
