Discover the ancient technique for decorating metalwork. Work with copper while you kiln fuse powered glass onto the metal. While you create a design in wire, you will then apply the in segments. Repeated firings build up the design in layers and since firing take only minutes, you will see results right away.

Learn this cold-joining technique to join metal without using a torch. This is a technique you can repeat at home without purchasing a lot of equipment. Cold-joining also allows you to incorporate materials that could not be exposed to the heat of soldering such as wood, plastics or your favorite found objects.

Students will work with sterling silver, brass, and copper wire to design and produce a beautiful and dramatic chain consisting of mixed metal rings of assorted sizes and textures. Soldering loops and constructing a toggle will be covered. Even experienced jewelry students can benefit from the intense practice of repeatedly soldering chain loops.

Focus on recreating natural forms in copper in this two-day workshop. Forms from nature such as flowers, leaves, feathers and seed pods will be created using a variety of techniques including die-forming, forging and fold forming.

Learn how to set your thread on the loom and loom a complete bracelet! Once the bracelet is loomed you will cut the threads from the loom and learn how to weave the threads back into the bracelet and attach the silver clasp. Loom and beads provided. The kit will provide you enough supplies to make a second bracelet at home. This workshop will be taught by longtime CAC student Laura Adams. Recommended to bring an Optivisor Maginfier.
