This comprehensive class offers a strong foundation and introduction to the wide variety of materials and methods used for constructing mosaics. The instructor will also cover design, terminology, tools, substrates, adhesives, and more.  About an hour into the workshop, you will begin to use your new-found knowledge to design and create an 8” x 8” home décor piece, suitable for hanging in an indoor setting.  We will be using a wood panel as our base and vitreous glass tiles and/or stained glass to create your mosaic. In the second meeting, your artwork is grouted, and all finishing options discussed. Students are welcome to bring their own simple designs, however, if you feel more comfortable creating from an existing design, an ample selection of optional patterns will be available for you to use. The workshop fee includes all materials to complete your project and tool loan during class time.

This workshop is designed for students brand new to mosaics, or with limited experience.
