So many times, we focus on the main body of a piece of jewelry we’re making and neglect to pay attention to the little connective details that bring so much interest to bear.
Instead of using a standard machine-made closure, for instance, just think how much more interesting your necklace would be with a handmade loop or toggle rather than a purchased lobster claw? Or how much more intriguing an earring would be with a handmade ear wire.
So many ways to add texture and visual interest exist that you will come out of this one-day workshop with an increased design vocabulary that you can immediately use to elevate the quality and perceived value of your work.
Co-led by department head Rebecca Swann and costume jewelry designer Chris Unruh, this will be a fun filled day of work and laughs, with a lot of discovery and a-ha moments along the way.
