The best way to begin understanding the many complexities of printmaking is through the Monotype. This freeform style in printmaking allows the discovery of the many techniques used in all forms of printmaking. Beginning with the design of the image, working with polycarbonate plates students will create a Black & White composition. Working next with color, we begin to explore the fundamental process of printmaking. You will learn how to register the plate and paper for multi-color printing, prepping the ink, how to layer color and pattern, to create unique, One-Of-A-Kind Prints. You will learn how to operate a press, understand how to choose the correct paper, and experience the community of printmaking. No experience necessary, beginning and experience artists are welcome.
Terri is a master at sharing this process, helping you grow your printmaking skills. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced printmaker, the tips and tricks that you will experience in her class help grow your creative skills.
You will be working in a Certified Green Studio, learning the importance of protecting your health and the health of the planet through sustainable practices.
